YOU CAN DO IT! Part One!

  When the going gets rough THE ENTREPRENEURS get going!

TODAY! NOW! We all know the  situations of our great nation and of our great fellow citizens! 

We  WILL pull together, we will CREATE our own wealth and we WILL BE STRONG AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!

The *HandyWomen At Work Chronicles is a series expressly for WOMEN seeking a way to work at home or work FROM home.  Women who want to earn and or women who NEED to earn.

As a mother of four I created and began several homebased businesses through the years to support my children, along with a few retail jobs also.  I then graduated from Beauty College, licensed as a cosmetologist and owned 2 great salons with one of my daughters.  I then certified as a stress consultant, Pilates Trainer and other entities.  With my background and experiences I hope you will find morsels of information and support to help you reach YOUR goals!

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!      KEEP AT IT!   LET NO PERSON NOR SITUATION PULL YOU AWAY FROM YOUR DREAMS, PASSIONS AND GOALS!

The chronicles PART ONE begins with extracting INFORMATION about yourself!

Information which will help you center on WHAT you WANT to do as a business and where your deep talents and passions point the way.

This step is crucial:  WRITE, WRITE AND WRITE more!   Beginning from your youth, upwards to your age now, write about what you like to do, love to do and what you would like to learn to do. 

Are you creative?  Do you do things with passion?  Do you like to work with your hands, your mind.  Do you like to DO....or teach? 

Write about what you have seen that impresses you so much you too would love to learn how to do it. 

Write about services which you, family and friends really need or just really want!

What types of services are hard to find? 

Take at least a week and keep adding to the above growing lists!  Do not alter your lists.  KEEP THESE LISTS!

THEN as you go over what you have written you will see many good ideas.  Take these good ideas and write how you feel about them. 

All of the above is a very personal process.  One which only YOU can do.

Let's say you find YOUR TRUE CALLING and are determined to begin a business.

STOP!  FIRST you MUST, yes do somemore wiriting! Considering the first steps CRUCIAL....these next steps are even MORE crucial!

In a financially flourishing nation, and so too  WHERE YOU LIVE, your choice of starting a business is totally different than what OUR ECONOMY WAS A YEAR AGO, TWO YEARS AGO!

*THIS IS WHY:  "EXTRA SPENDABLE INCOME!"  When the economy is flourishing and jobs are close to plentiful, there is MORE money to spend on NON-NECESSARY THINGS! 

THOSE DAYS ARE GONE......FOR NOW!    Unless you feel you CAN cater to high income customers, THIS IS THE REALITY:

Because of the swift down-turn  of our ecomony, all earning brackets have been hit and HOW WE ALL SPEND has taken a quick detour. 

People are now centered on fixing and repairing the home they have.  Creating or re-creating their outside property. 

People are buying and holding close "home comforts" called nesting the home.  AND the list goes on to HOME centered issues. 

More and more the norm is to hire small or self-employed persons, to maintain their homes/yards/gardens, do repairs, decorate or RE-DECORATE.  They know they can save money hiring self-employed persons to come to their home for a WIDE ARRAY OF SERVICES AND PRODUCTS. 

Of course the above catagories are high on customers lists but YOUR list can present added services such as:  Gardening, WEEDING, sewing, pet care, home painting inside and out, decorative painting, house/home cleaning, move-in and move out help, consierge services, and the list goes on.

This new threshold of customers WILL EXPECT their money's WORTH, they will EXPECT you to be EXPERIENCED AND HIGH IN QUALITY.  They will EXPECT you to be prompt, business like, courteous, and to arrive DRESSED PROPERLY.  Your good and positive personality and good character is of the utmost.

*****NEVER EVER learn on the customers dime!  Learn, train, educate, gather experience and quality ON YOUR OWN TIME!  What else will BRING you confidence!

I BELIEVE THE TIME IS NOW FOR WOMEN TO FILL THESE FIELDS WITH THEIR TALENT AND QUALITY OF WORK AND PRODUCTS. 

BEFORE anyone goes into business, you MUST check your local, county, state and federal issues first.  You can get free info online, at your city hall etc.  You can ask any question you want at any of these levels.  Your queries are just THAT, a query.  They only want to help you.  It is much simpler than it sounds BUT you do want to be SURE of everything because YOUR business and efforts are on the line.

Of course you can also "Google" with your questions too.

Also, if you live in a home owners association, be sure of your CC&R'S for YOUR projected business.

TIP-O- THE TIMES:  The senior population is a massive age group and one which greatly depends on MUCH of the topics discussed above!  THE PROBLEM:  Finding persons of quality and price fairness!

THE SMART WOMAN:  She who taps into this great population and caters very well to them will be the hit of the town.  Seniors tell it like it is!  If you do well and are courteous, clean and educated for your task with great customer services, YOU WILL BE PRAISED TO ALL.......IF NOT,  kiss this group of fabulous people g'bye.

THE SMART WOMAN PART 2:  ALWAYS OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES AND MAKE LARGE MENTION OF IT IN ALL YOUR PROMOTIONS, BIZ CARDS ETC.

NOW THEN MY NEW FRIENDS!  Sure!  You will have your nervous times.  WE ALL DO!  BUT YOU CAN DO IT IF IT IS A PASSION AND A NEED!  NEVER GIVE UP!   I BELIEVE IN YOU!
